Making Challah

Every Challah is unique, the making of each filled with different thoughts and worries and love that are transmitted to the Challah, causing bumps and crevices and even braiding, when done exactly the same comes out different.

Today a major catastrophe, thoughts interfering with the making, the eggs not separated, yolk from white, the eggs even forgotten until after the kneeding was halfway through, then broken and squished into the braiding.

Two Challah, now sitting side by side now on the rack, each different, warm and filling our home with sweet smells of eggs and sugar and yeast and flour, waiting to be eaten, each Challah as different from the other as, you, and I.
